Combined Run to Gunning with the GT and Mustang Clubs
Sunday 19th August 2018
Woke up to a cold windy morning but the sun was shining, if a bit patchily, and headed to Power Karts Raceway to meet up with the Falcon GT and Mustang Lads.
Had a turnout of about 13 or 14 cars, 4 of which were Toranas.
After a bit of a chat we headed off for Gunning via Collector.
Had a good run up the highway to the Collector turnoff and then followed the sign to Gunning only to find that a couple of K’s up the road it turned to dirt. Perfect for Ivan and Anna in their bash car as a bit of preparation for Camp Quality Escarpade this year going from Bathurst to Wagga over 7 days via Lightning Ridge. But for the rest of us a bit of map reading and rerouting was necessary.
It was decided to go back through Collector and take the Breadalbane road which was a bit of an unknown. It was a bit of a country lane but was sealed, and we got a close up of the cows as they crossed the road. Once at Breadalbane we got onto Cullerin Road which was much better and took us into Gunning where Ivan and Anna had been waiting for us (for a while) at the Telegraph Hotel.
After a good feed and watering we headed home via Gundaroo.
Thanks to The Falcon GT club for the invite, an enjoyable adventurous day was had by all.
Hope to see you on the next run.
Cheers,
Tony.
