Araluen Run
Saturday 11th August 2018
Woke up to a sunny day and drove to The Royal Hotel Bungendore where we
were meeting for the run to Araluen.
Met up there with Mark, Paul and Loreen, Herbie and Cheryl, Brad and
Helen and Rob.
After a bit of chat we headed off to Braidwood Model Cars for a bit of a
look.
Next was the short leg to Araluen. The road was a bit rough in a few
spots but pretty good overall and a bit of fun was
had going down the mountain twists into the Araluen Valley.
Toranas had pole position in front of The Araluen Hotel and everyone
grabbed a few photos even the manager Norm.
Once inside with drinks and lunch ordered the gauntlet was thrown down
by Paul to Brad for a game of pool, and so
the challenge for bragging rights and a schooner was on. Paul looked
like he had it in the bag even after some very
arsey shots from Brad but went in off the black and that was that.
Perfect timing really because our meals were coming out.
We enjoyed a good feed and conversation and decided it was time to head
home.
Rob invited everyone to stop in at his place in Bungendore on the way
through so we did. We had a quick beer/coffee,
(because there was a bit of weather on the way in). Thanks to Rob and
Karen for your hospitality.
The rain came just as we were leaving, but everyone was in agreement
that it was a great day and would like to do it again sometime.
Hope to see you on the next run.
Cheers,
Tony.
